  • Home Page  Set in the beautiful Somerset village of Shepton Beauchamp, the Duke of York is a 17th Century Free House, offering visitors a fantastic menu prepared by one of the area’s leading chefs, as well as a selection of great real ales, local ciders and an excellent range of wines. Customers at the pub will be greeted by husband and wife team, Paul and Hayley Rowlands…and the famous pub dog, Purdy “We took over at the pub back in 2002, with a firm idea of what we were looking to create – a pub with a traditional feel that would be welcoming to both locals and visitors to the village. With the introduction of our chef LucieDavid, we now offer some of the best food in the area, made using fine, local ingredients. Head chef, Lucie David is widely recognised as one of the most accomplished chefs in the area, known for her use of freshly bought, local ingredients. The menu on offer has something for everyone, with a choice of eating from the daily ‘blackboard specials’ or the a la carte menu. The Duke of York is well known for serving some of the best chargrilled steaks in Somerset; delicious fresh fish sourced through Samways of Bridport, as well as a selection of homemade, pub classics. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted to choose from a range of homemade desserts. “I’m very proud of the food my team and I prepare for our customers. When I started working with Paul and Hayley, we set about putting the Duke of York on the culinary map.
