  •  The Jolly Tar offers a traditional cosy bar, award winning accommodation, fresh locally sourced food with the addition of lots of fresh fish & seafood. Local steak is farmed nearby and chargrilled to your preference. We serve food every night and on a Saturday morning, we also offer fresh pastries, cream teas and great tasting coffee from 10am or why not visit us for Sunday lunch (booking advisable). We have a special lunchtime menu on a Wednesday for the older generation (over 60’s), the menu changes every week so go on, give your OAPs a treat.We plan to offer Jazz nights and entertainment, a great way to spend an evening with a glass of wine and a local saxophonist player. Winter is a perfect time to come visit us, and a warm welcome will always be on hand in front of our open log fires on a cold frosty night.  RESTAURANTOur bar and restaurant are best described as traditional and cosy. With a real fireplace and the most comfortable in furnishings, our bar area is the ideal place to relax with friends, or a pint and a paper.Our conservatory is a perfect venue for business breakfast meetings, with large grounds, ample parking and a spacious patio area.Children are more than welcome to join their parents in our pub and we even have a menu for our important small guests.  Pets are more than welcome in our public bar and patio area. They are also welcome to stay with you in the accommodation but we do have a policy that they are kept under control and do not come into the restaurant area for the comfort of our other diners. Our bar and restaurant are best described astraditional and cosy. With a real fire place and the most comfortable in furnishings, our bar area is the ideal place to relax with friends, or a pint and a paper. To maintain the tradition of the The Jolly Tar, our menu consists of quality pub food, 2 course Sunday Lunch (using local produce) including chargrilled specialities, such as Bison & Wild Boar.Being a family-run pub, Kate and Paul have been very fortunate that their son Tim has been a fully trained chef for 6 years, previously at a well respected hotel in Oxford. He came to help his parents move in and ended up enjoying it so much he has decided to stay.-->ACCOMMODATIONThe Jolly Tar boasts four double bedrooms, which have received an AA 'Red Diamond' award. This award is only given to the best 10% of guest accommodation. Establishments are selected on the quality of their bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas.All rooms are tastefully decorated to the highest standard.  All are ensuite and include a flat screen TV with Freeview, ironing facilities, tea & coffee making facilities and free internet access.Prices are as follows and include breakfast:Single Occupancy       £55.00Double Occupancy     £70.00Triple Occupancy        £85.00 (a foldaway bed can be added)
