  • The Cornish Epicure is a new business, based in the Camelford area. An epicure is one who cultivates a refined taste for the pleasures of life and The Cornish Epicure is dedicated to creating unique products that enable customers to take pleasure in their quality. Established by Madi Precious and Helen Wood, The Cornish Epicure is a line of handmade food items, dreamt up the two women who studied to be gardeners at Duchy College, Rosewarne, where the chilies in their current range of products were grown as a demonstration crop using nutrient film technique.All products are made by hand in Madi's kitchen on Bodmin Moor, the recipes coming from old family cookbooks amended by contemporary taste. The products currently are a red chili chutney, a green chili chutney, a mustard-based hot chili sauce called The Yellow One, a gingery hot chili sauce called The Red One, and a chili jelly; there are also two herb jellies - a mint one, and a rosemary and sage one.The Cornish Epicure grows its own ingredients or sources them locally wherever possible in order to reduce food miles - which keeps the food fresh, helps safeguard or increase employment in the local economy by using local suppliers and growers, and reduces harmful emissions caused by transporting food across the world.You can contact us on www.cornish-epicure.co.uk or by phoning 01840 212161 or 213344.A new range of Cornish Chilli products including healthy and pampering hand cream and bath salts etc, are currently being researched and developed.
