  • Quarr Lane Farm is a small friendly, family-run Bed and Breakfast offering first class accommodation in the heart of the Dorset countryside where a warm welcome awaits you all year round.All bedrooms are en-suite and on the ground floor. In each room there are tea and coffee facilities with a selection of teas and locally made biscuits and fresh milk is always available. A colour remote-controlled television, clock-radio alarm, hair dryer, iron and luggage racks are also in each room. A fax / modem point is available upon request.The lounge and dining area have out-standing views over open countryside with French windows opening out on to a pretty patio, exclusively for guests use.Also in the lounge there is a small fridge ideal for keeping wine, water etc cool.A choice of full English, continental or vegetarian breakfast using local produce where possible.There is ample parking in the gravel drive to the front of the house and we operate a no-smoking policy in the house. Quarr Lane Farm is set down a quiet country lane off the A35, surrounded by a patchwork of fields, hedgerows and hills (many of which are iron age forts) between the Historic Market town of Bridport, with it?s popular street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the picturesque village of Chideock.The local fishing harbour of West Bay is a short drive away (3 miles) with Pubs and Restaurants offering a wide selection of dishes, including locally caught fresh Fish. Fishing trips are available from the quayside and we are always happy to freeze your catches ready for you to take home.The fossil-rich beaches of Charmouth & Lyme Regis are to be found to the west. The near by pretty villages of Symondsbury (with it?s thatched pub, the Illchester Arms), Chideock, Eype and Seatown have lovely village pubs each with a wide selection of food, ranging from traditional Pub Food to the more varied restaurant menus.The stunning landscape and beaches of West Dorset have inspired artists, writers and poets alike for many years. The East Beach at West Bay has been used numerous times in film and television and is part of the famous Chesil Beach which streatchesfor 28 miles to Portland. It is also part of the World Heritage Coastline.Most of West Dorset is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is plenty to please everyone ? excellent countryside full of historical interest, a varied coastline, houses, gardens, beautiful villages and towns with a wide variety of architecture and lots more. The series ?River Cottage? was also made in this area. The New River Cottage Centre is in Broadoak, 2 miles away.
