Ledbury & District U3A is affiliated to the Third Age Trust and is a registered charity which provides educational and recreational opportunities for retired/semi-retired people.   Members present at the well-attended November Monthly Meeting (incorporating the AGM) of Ledbury & District U3A were treated to an excellent illustrated talk about Well Dressing in Derbyshire by Keith Orchard Robinson.  From Mr Robinson, we learned about the history of Well Dressing from its pagan roots to its assimilation into Christian tradition some 600 years ago.  We saw slides, not only of dressed wells in various Peak District towns and villages, but also the painstaking step by step process that goes into the making of these magnificent works of art. There will be no Monthly Meeting in December but we look forward to welcoming Dr Dennis Williams to our meeting in January 2010 where he will present a talk about Aviation Archaeology in Wales and the Marches.
