  • Talking Tots classes have now launched in Mid Sussex! Classes operate in term time only and are for all children aged 12 months to 5 years, whether you have a fully fledged chatterbox or a little one who is just starting out! At Talking Tots children will discover a host of imaginative, interactive and exciting activities that encourage little ones to get talking.  Our fun classes help to promote group bonding, encourage sharing and turn taking, develop listening and attention skills and boost confidence within the peer group, to name but a few of the benefits! Our classes are based on games, activities, rhymes and stories that are lots of fun for little ones but are designed to help boost their confidence and communication skills.  Each class also includes a freeplay session, so children and parents can get to know each other. Talking Tots is great for children who aren't yet confident talkers, as they got lots of practice using sounds and words in a fun way. Talking Tots classes support elements from each of the six areas covered by the early learning goals of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage:- Personal, Social and Emotional Development Communication, Language and Literacy Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy Knowledge and Understanding of the World Physical Development Creative Development OUR CLASSES: Speech Sprites...laying the foundations. This class looks at fundamental skills such as social confidence, sharing & turn taking and listening & attention skills.  There's lots of fun & action packed structured games, with exciting colourful props, singing and rhymes. Speech Sprinters...the adventure continues.  This class continues to focus on important skills such as social confidence, sharing and turn taking and listening and attention skills.  It also introduces activities to develop semantic knowledge and narrative ability.  There's lots of fun and action packed games with props, rhymes and singing. Speech Sparklers...getting ready for school. In this pre-school year children may enjy playing with sounds, and will begin to join in with word games such as finding rhyming words and identifying the beginnings of common names and objects.  We build on this natural interest to boost the pre-literacy skills and help to prepare them for the classroom, whilst promoting vital social skills such as sharing. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings in Clair Hall, Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath at 9.10am. Our pre-bookable classes are kept small in size and are £5 per session, payable half-termly in advance. We offer a two week trial for a fixed cost of £10, so why not come and give Talking Tots a go!
