  • The Year 2009 combines two Darwinian anniversaries – 200 years from his birth (12th February) and 150 years from the publication of The Origin of Species (24th November) On the eve of the second of these anniversaries, Alton Fringe Theatre presents dramatized readings using original texts, letters and other material. The presentation is richly illustrated using drawings, engravings, paintings, music including the anthems played at Darwin’s funeral and one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s witty songs satirizing his Theory of Evolution. Tickets £8 (£7 concessions)
