  • PETS AND SKIN CANCER WARNING Although it's generally understood that sunburn can cause skin cancer, few owners realise that it can affect pets too.  Those most at risk are white coated animals, such as cats and rabbits, that enjoy sunbathing. Woodside re-homed all white cat Chester recently, after he had both ears amputated due to the disease. Most vulnerable parts are noses and ears, which develop ulcers that will not heal.  Damage can be avoided with high factor sunblock, but if you are in any doubt - contact your vet immediately.
