Further Description
  • The Army Cadet Force is a well established voluntary organisation that runs for young people aged between 13 and 18 years of age.  Currently being run by SI Erica Bagshaw, we attract a variety of youngsters from all backrounds to provide them with skills in orienteering, sports, shooting, fieldcraft, foot drill, first aid, history and leadership skills. We offer assistance to any organisation needing help for things such as environmental problems, fundraising and much more.  We annually take part in the Poppy Appeal and march through the town centre in the Rememberance Parades in November to show our respect for others who died to save us during the numerous wars that have taken place.  We ask cadets to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as well as giving them the opportunity to gain additional GCSE qualifications as part of the BTEC First Diploma in Public Services.Although some of our cadets go into the Army, most come to gain friends, have fun and develop leadership skills that they would not normally have the chance to learn in civillian life.  We parade Monday and Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm and look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to find out more or request assistance of any kind.
