  •   Following on from the recent announcement in the Dorset Echo concerning the Sutton Poyntz Village Plan the response from residents to issues raised in the Village Plan Questionnaire has been very encouraging. The chairman of the steering Group, Maureen Tepper says. "I, and members of the Village Plan Steering Group, are delighted with the results of the recent community survey which shows that more than 70% of the households contacted have responded to the questionnaire that was circulated in April; this is much better than we could ever have hoped for and the Steering Group expresses its heartiest thanks to all who took the time, patience and conscious effort to complete the questionnaire."The detail will now be subject to analysis and trends determined.  On the basis of the information the Steering Group will be inviting residents to head up subgroups to input to the report and village plan.  Without the support of the residents this initiative, parented by the Sutton Poyntz Society, would have no impetus.The project is aimed to provide a credible input to the Weymouth and Portland Local Plan as part of the Government's Community Initiative; this is an entirely non-political process designed to ensure that the community of Sutton Poyntz can play its part in determining the village's future in the Borough.
