Further Description
  • Tenants of South Kesteven District Council will soon have the opportunity to decide whether they want to stay with the Council as their landlord or to transfer to an Housing Association. I am asking tenants to vote NO to the proposed transfer to an housing association. The SKDC is a good landlord. Why change? Its all about money. The SKDC will get about 48 million gross from the transfer. Setting up an housing association will cost about 4 million. As a council tax payer it is your money. It will mean rent increases and less security of tenure but more importantly it will mean that your home is privatised. There will be no going back if you decide to go for the transfer. Don't make a big mistake.
