Further Description
  • A donation by workers from a firm in Aldridge will assist our campaign for more volunteers Charity minded employees from Outokumpu, located in Middlemore Lane, are helping fund the introduction of revised training materials as part of Walsall Samaritans' on-going project to recruit, train and retain volunteers for their 24 hour confidential emotional support service."We believe wholeheartedly that Samaritans make a significant difference to people's lives," says Malcolm Miller of the company's Worker's Charity Fund Committee. "One of the company employees who is a Samaritans volunteer told us they were looking for funding and we decided to help."Irene Roberts, our director says "We constantly need to recruit the best available people, prepare them thoroughly, and maintain their skills throughout their life as a volunteer. The support of the Outokumpu workers will help us achieve our ends, and we're very grateful to them."We also need to raise further cash for equipment including a photocopier, and to fund an advertising campaign in the area. If you are a company, society or individual who can help us, please get in touch.
