Further Description
Lincolnshire Voluntary Sector Consortium (LVSC) A Unique opportunity for Lincolnshire Charities and Community groups The Chair of the LVSC, Tony Beal, says ?It is vital that as many community groups as possible take part in this consultation. This is a unique opportunity for the voluntary and community sector to structure the support that it needs and it is very unlikely to occur again. This is an important chance for local groups to have a real input into this process. We need them, to help us tell Government what is needed.? Charities and community groups across Lincolnshire are being urged to express their views on the practical support and services they need to work effectively. The Government Office for the East Midlands has asked the Lincolnshire Voluntary Sector Consortium (LVSC) to consult community and voluntary organisations throughout Lincolnshire and to put forward proposals to strengthen and improve support services such as training, volunteering, funding advice and IT support. These kinds of services are provided by groups like the Community Council, Councils for Voluntary Service and local Volunteer Bureaux. LVSC is asking local charities, village hall committees, community action groups and other associations to complete a short questionnaire by June 10th at latest. The questionnaire has been mailed to 1,700 local organisations, is available on the internet at www.actionplanning.co.uk or can be requested from LVSC?s consultants, Action Planning; tel 020 8642 4122. Every questionnaire returned by the deadline will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win 100 for a local charity or community group. LVSC is also organizing an Open Workshop for local groups on Wednesday June 9th from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm at Tattershall Village Hall. This will be an opportunity to hear first-hand about the LVSC plans and to make views known. A booking form is available at www.actionplanning.co.uk as above. Lunch will be provided but space is limited and group representatives are asked to book early. Lincolnshire Voluntary Sector Consortium (LVSC) is a group of over 20 voluntary and community organisations and networks which play a supporting, co-ordinating, representation, policy-making and development role for others.
