  • The parish council have unanimously agreed that they should oppose the planning application by County Environmental Services forthe location of a temporary Municipal Waste Transfer Station at United Downs. The key reasons for objection are increased and heavier lorries, management of the site, the future of the transfer station, poor managemnet of municipal solid waste in the first place. If waste management had been carefully thought about ten years ago and a coherent strategy devised then we would not be in the mess we are in now.
