Further Description
  • Dear ResidentsFires can affect any of us so it's important we are able to get essential fire safety messages directly to people in the local community about how they can protect themselves, friends and family.I'd like to introduce myself as the Community Safety Officer and the Fire Safety Team for South Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service. There are five retained fire stations within South Cambridgeshire and a team currently based at Cambridge, Parkside who deal with training, auditing and operational development of the stations, community fire safety and fire safety legislation for the district. We aim to provide our community with the highest possible standards in fire defence, rescue services and fire safety. My role involves communicating fire safety messages to communities within South Cambs, monitoring trends within the area and developing fire safety initiatives to address any target areas.I would be interested in getting involved with the parish, including any websites, journals or events you may hold, and would be grateful if you could inform me of your activities using the contact details below.Station Officer Steve Cotton and Sub Officer Reg Marchant undertake training, auditing and operational development for the stations and Station Officer Robin Doughty deals with fire safety issues. The team is headed up by Assistant Divisional Officer Chris Smith and Divisional Officer Pat Kilby - the District Manger. The team is supported by District Administrator Kelly Hinkley and Admin Assistant Hillary Trevisick. We also employ retained (part-time) firefighters aged 18-55. If you live or work within five minutes travelling time of one of the stations, have excellent eyesight and a good level of general fitness, we would like to hear from you.If you have any other suggestions or points you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me or any other member of the team.Yours sincerelyTony HibberdCommunity Fire Safety Officer (South Cambs)Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue ServiceContact Tony Hibberd or Kelly Hinkley, District Administrator on:Tel: 01223 376206Fax: 01223 376229Email: tony.hibberd@cambsfire.gov.uk or kelly.hinkley@cambsfire.gov.uk
