  • SAVE OUR SPACE is a campaign that has been started by a few local residents over the last 2 weeks, today being 10.6.03, to try and prevent a proposed development of the last remaining Green Belt land in Landywood Lane & Streets Lane, Cheslyn Hay & Great Wyrley.Wimpey UK LTD, are proposing to develop this 53.7 heactare land into a residential and industrial site. This would be enviromentally devistating for the two villages. They would not be able to call themselves villages as the area would join Cheslyn Hay & Great Wyrley together.These two villages cannot take another 1000+ houses, factories, etc. It is the only peice of green land, for our diminishing wildlife to breed upon. We will become a Town. The roads are already far too busy to cope with the number of new developments that have popped up over the last 20 years, our schools are at bursting point, doctors full. Why can't gready builders leave us some countryside on our doorstep?If you have any comments to make on this issue, please act now,The deadline to get our objections in to South Staffs Council, Head Of Development, Council Offices, Codsall, was the 30th June, but due to staff being on leave, and all the necessary bodies not yet giving their comments, you can still send in your objections.Please help us to SAVE OUR SPACE.
