  • Ardington and Lockinge lie just east of Wantage in the southern part of the County of Oxfordshire. It is in an area of the Wessex Downs designated to be of outstanding natural beauty. The two adjoining parishes of Ardington and of Lockinge include, to the south, part of the ancient downland track, The Ridgeway. To the north the land within the parishes falls to the Thames Valley. Ardington and East Lockinge are the main villages, with hamlets at West Ginge, Betterton, West Lockinge and Ardington Wick. The total population is less than 500 with an electorate of 391 in December 2004.
