  • Harrowbarrow & Metherell Community Association involves all members of the community. We have provided a busy Village Hall catering for all age groups. We also produce HAMLET, our bi-minthly newsletter.The Play Park project has involved younger members  of the Community who are excited about helping to provide a facility previously not available in either village. Several open-forum days have been arranged at the Village Hall where youngsters have attended and have input ideas into the scheme. A website has been produced informing interested parties of the progress and plans. www.itsmymarket.com/harrowbarrowandmetherell-community-parkHarrowbarrow Primary School and our Playgroup have all contributed to the scheme. We have catered for Adults and more mature members of the community by providing facilities at the Village Hall. This scheme meets the needs of the younger section of the community. With more emphasis on sport and activity this scheme fits in with the current promotions to prevent obesity. This scheme is unique and imaginative because a keen group of volunteers has been able to provide a facility normally provided by Government but in these days of financial constraints it has been unable to do so.Since its inception isn 1983 the Community Association has enhanced the communication and the social intercourse of the residents.
