  • The Asia Cultural Centre is a meeting point for people who have an interest in the languages, religion and philosophy, history, martial arts, painting and calligraphy, pottery, weaving, indigo dyeing, cooking, music, dance and traditional gardens of the Far East.The Asia Cultural Centre also runs Japanese and Mandarin classes at the St Sidwell Community Centre, Sidwell Street, Exeter. The Japanese class is on Wednesday evening and the Mandarin class is on Friday evening. Both classes begin at 7:00pm. The tuition fee for two hours of Japanese is £3 and £4 for Mandarin.Perhaps you are not sure how difficult these languages these languages are, or you might hesitate to pay up-front for a language course. If so, why don't you come along for a two-hour 'taster session' and see how you get on? If you decide to continue, you need only pay whenever you take a lesson.Students receive individual tuition, so you will not have to wait while ten other students attempt to answer the question before it's your turn again. You will not be held up by slow students or put under pressure by those who are almost fluent in the language. You just go ahead at you own pace.If you need to take time off for a business trip, you wil not have 'missed' any lessons or wasted any tuition fees. You just carry on from where you left off.
