  • 1st Saltney (St Marks) Scout GroupOffers the fun and Adventure of Scouting to Boys and Girls from 6 to 14Beaver Scouts aged 6-8 enjoy learning through fun, Making things, Simple cookery, Playing games, They have trips out and visit Camps. The Colony runs a balanced programme and there is the opportunity to gain Challenge and Activity Badges and the ultimate award in Beaver Scouts the Bronze Chief Scout Award.Cub Scouts aged 8 -10 1/2 learn through doing learning many life skills like teamwork, safety, first aid, making friends and many practical skills. We offer the opportunity for Camping each year and the Cubs get to taste many adventurous activities they can pursue further in Scouts. In the last year Cubs have been Rafting, Bell Boating, Orienteering, Low ropes Assault Course and had visits to Chester Fire Station, Crocky Trail and Drayton Manor Theme Park. The Pack runs a balanced programme and there is the opportunity to gain Challenge and Activity Badges and the ultimate award in Cub Scouts the Silver Chief Scout Award.Scouts aged 10 1/2 to 14 learn to be self reliant, self disciplined, work as a team, make friendships with Scouts throughout the World. Scouts have many adventures and opportunities to go Camping. In the last year the Scouts have been on a Narrow Boating Camp, Bellboating, Rafting There will be further opportunities in the coming months for hiking camping, attending a large internation camp in Cheshire Chamboree 2010 and hopefully an international trip.To quote our newly appointed Chief Scout Bear GryllsEvery Child has the right to an AdventureCome and find out more at www.saltneyscouts.org.uk
