  • Ballinderry, Background;Ballinderry is historically a rural community. However over the years the villages of Upper & Lower have grown to become home to people from many walks of life.In 2008 a need  to tackle some negative issues within our community was identified and a series of meetings where held in the local Moravian Church. A desire to see our community develop in a positive way, led to the creation of a committee to champion positive projects within the area and hopefully build and strengthen community spirit in Ballinderry. Ballinderry Residents AssociationAt a public meeting held on the 29th January 09 the Residents Association was formed an 11 volunteers elected onto the committee. The committee identified that while expectations for immediate improvement where high, not everything could be achieved in one year so set out a five year plan .This year two major events are planned, a Village Fete, to be held on Saturday 15th August 09 from 12 noon till 3pm and a Christmas Party, date to be confirmed.The Moravian Church run a community Youth Club every Tursday night  from September to June, the Residents Association support this vital work.
