At its humble beginnings in 2003; 5 clubs came together with a vision of providing girls football within the locality. Each club over the season 2003/04 hosted a festival of football, culminating in the formation of the New Forest Girls Football League. The League gained official recognition with Hampshire FA in 2004 with 8 teams in a 2 league structure; in 2007/08 we can boast to having 36 teams in 4 leagues, (that's in excess of 400 girls playing regular, competitive football). The League is unique and innovative; this season has seen the introduction of 9-a-side football and has proved very successful. The League therefore, has 7, 9 and 11 a-side versions of the game. The New Forest Girls Football League has become a showcase for exciting, skilful, and thoroughly entertaining football. The League has been chosen to be one of only two female leagues within the UK to be a pilot for Charter Standard League. We expect to gain the standard for 2009/10 Season. Why not be part of it.
