  • My name is Bryan Tyler and I have recently been appointed Disability Forum Manager for DIAL in Peterborough. DIAL is working in partnership with the City Council and Primary Care Trust (along with other regional and national organisations) to highlight areas concerning disabled people in our community. My role is to help develop the Disability Forum in Peterborough; we want to involve disabled people in the shaping of our city, for its future growth and service developments. The Forum will give disabled people a platform to highlight any issues and provide a voice that will be heard, listened to and valued. I am, at present meeting with people in disability groups to establish what the issues are for them. I am hoping that a representative from each of these groups will attend the Disability Forum, which will be held every 2 months. I would also welcome meeting with disabled individuals who are interested in sharing their experience and becoming involved in wider disability issues. Firstly I have some questions that need to be answered:·        Would your area benefit from its own local Disability Forum?·        What are the disability issues in your community?·        Do disabled people in your area have any ideas that could make the local community more disability friendly?I can’t answer these questions without your help. I am looking for active involvement from people with disabilities in Peterborough. Please contact me and together we can try to make a difference.
