Further Description
  • ‘GET-SET-GO’ and get active with Stratford District Council! If you are aged 45 or over – we want you! Regular exercise keeps you healthy - your Active Communities Team is here to support you – we have developed a range of activities, which include ‘GET Active’ sports and activity sessions held at a selection of local leisure centres, ‘SET the pace’ free guided health walks in market towns throughout the district, and ‘GO Green’ exercise initiatives which combine gardening on allotments and vegetable patches with raising awareness of healthy eating. It’s well known that regular physical activity may contribute to reducing your risk of coronary heart disease, strokes, some cancers, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, dementia and other mental health problems. We will help you by getting you on the right track and motivating you to keep up the good work. Just 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day on 5 or more days of the week is enough to get fitter, healthier and happier. By joining us, it’s a way for you to enjoy your community or explore the countryside surrounding your home, try new things, get out and about, be sociable by meeting new people, and most importantly, have fun! ‘GET ACTIVE’ (Small fee applies - payable to Leisure Centre hosting the session) DROP-IN ACTIVITY SESSIONS  Alcester Grammar School Monday 7-8pm £1.50Alcester Greig Lifestyles Centre Thursday 10am-12pm £1.00Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre Friday 11am-1pm £1.10 Come and play sport just for fun, or why not challenge others to a game?
