Further Description
  • The Preston Bird Watching & Natural History Society serves a 15 radius around Preston. The Society, which is a Registered Charity, is 132 years old but still there are many who haven't heard of us!!,We meet in St. Mary's Church Hall, Cop Lane, Penwortham, where we enjoy weekly illustrated lectures about all manner of natural history related subjects. The audience, usually about 80, is made up of armchair enthusiasts as well as active field natualists. Last winter season we welcomed over 180 visitors, many of whom visited more than once. This is one of the most successful societies of its kind - come and have a look at us.,The season begins on Monday 28th September 2009 with a talk by Peter Smith of Preston, with a talk entitled "SEAGULLS TO EAGLES".  An alternative title might well have been "Birds From Seashore to Mountain Top"
