  • Woodside is a registered charity no. 299789.  Our sanctuary is opposite Cann Woods, Elfordleigh and is a haven for unwanted and abused domestic pets.  We care for most companion animals, with the exception of birds and exotics, we also have some tame pigs, goats and sheep.No pets are destroyed unless they are beyond veterinary help or dangerous.  Old and sick animals remain as much loved residents.  Homes offered are carefully checked before adoption can take place and, if circumstances change, we expect the pet to be returned to us - even years later.We also work in the community and offer a spay and neuter scheme for owners on benefits.  It's far more cost effective than having to care for unwanted litters.  Spaying is our most successful weapon in fighting the appalling numbers of surplus pets in Plymouth. There are far too few good homes offered and we always have an incoming waiting list. Our work is funded by events, donations, legacies and our charity shops in Colebrook, Plympton, Ford (spay & neuter clinic too), St Budeaux, Yelverton, Tavistock, Saltash, Launceston and Liskeard.  For detailed information ring Colebrook shop on 01752 337552, or the sanctuary on 01752 347503
