Further Description
  • Shogun Karate ClubThe Shogun Karate Club is a friendly local non - profit making karate club teaching Shotokan karate since 1994. We believe that students learn quicker if they enjoy what they are doing. That is why the club instructors have developed a teaching style that encourages students to ask questions about any aspect of their training which makes learning karate both an enjoyable and educational experience.         Shotokan Karate as taught at the Shogun Karate Club, was not developed as an art of war; it was conceived in Japan as a defensive art used to defend yourself against armed and unarmed attackers.          What will it do for me I hear you thinking; well to be quite honest it will not transform you into some kind of super fighting machine, but It will give you great all round fitness, self awareness and confidence, and the ability to read situations and how best to deal with them.          The club is registered and approved by the English Karate Organisation, which enables us to attend a variety of courses and competitions run by the EKO. Although we encourage students to participate in these events they are not compulsory.                The club welcomes both adults, and children from the age of 7 of any ability or fitness.                We Train on Thursdays at Fordcombe Village Hall from 7.30 - 9.30pm for further details you can contact Sensei Gareth Munns by telephone on 01342-834368 or email info@shogunkarateclub.co.uk or alternatively visit our website at www.shogunkarateclub.co.uk.
