  •  ,The Loddon Singers have around 40 members of varying ages from 30 upwards.  This year being 2009, we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary with a summer show that looks back and includes something from every annual show we have done since we were formed in 1989.,We are a mixed ability group who ask only that our members have a love of singing and a willingness to learn and improve.  We do not hold auditions for new members but naturally expect some musical knowledge and an ability to sing in tune!,We normally sing four-part harmonies: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, but occasionally include unison pieces in order to vary a programme and to allow for audience participation.,As well as singing each week purely for pleasure, we usually have  Summer and Christmas Shows and also sing at weddings and outside events by invitation.,Some of our members form a choir for hymn singing and similar religious pieces at major church services and events such as Christmas Carol Concerts and Easter services,,This year we have a full programme of events, starting on 16th May 2009 with a show at Bungay's Emmanuel Church.  We are hoping to perform for our old friends at Lowestoft United Reform Church on Saturday 20th June and we will be singing at the Hardley Flower Festival on Friday 26th June.  Our Summer Show at The Lecture Hall, St. John's Chapel, Loddon will be on Saturday 4th July 2009.  Tickets (costing £4) will be on sale from Rosy Lee's and Youngs in Bridge Street and on the door on the night. ,We have chosen the Loddon First Response On-Call Team and the East Anglian Air Ambulance as our charities this year.  Proceeds from our shows and raffles will go to them.,This year's Christmas "Cracker" (as we call our Christmas show) will take place as usual at St John's Chapel, George Lane, Loddon at a date to be confirmed later in the year.  Watch this space!,We normally meet on Friday evenings at St John's in George Lane at 7.30pm throughout the year except January, July and August.   Why not come along and join us?,
