Further Description
  • Aylesbury Vale Youth TheatreAylesbury Vale Youth Theatre (formerly Songbird Productions) was formed in 2006 by local university students who wanted to bridge the gap between Aylesbury's music and drama scenes. The company was to serve the community by providing links between school and further education or the workplace. Their vision was to create a company that produced high quality shows where all involved, from the cast and band to the production team, is aged 16-21. Whilst the company is run by a small board, each show has its own extensive production team. The result of this vision was the sell-out show, City of Angels, produced in August 2007. Now, AVYT has prepared an exciting programme for the 2008 season with something for all to see. Stand and DeliverAylesbury Music Centre, 10-12th April 2008, 7.30pm. Tickets: £5 (£3 concessions) available online or on the door In the best tradition of great British film directors like Mike Leigh, AVYT is taking off in a new direction with an entirely improvised production. The selected cast for this new production will attend a week of workshops to get to know characters and storyline before taking to the stage for three nights where nothing has been rehearsed and anything could happen!  Thoroughly Modern MilliePendley Court Theatre, 21-23rd August 2008, 7.30pm (2pm Saturday matinee). Tickets: £8 (£5 concessions) AUDITIONS FOR CAST, BAND, PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL TEAM: 24 March - 6 April 2008, email info@avyt.org for more details. Set in New York in 1922, we follow the story of young Millie who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a villainess audiences will love to hate, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfect evening of madcap merriment.
