  •    The Chestnut Club meets once a month on the second Monday of the month at Waters Upton Village Hall, 2.00pm - 4.00pm. At present there are 49 members and the programme of speakers is in the Waters Upton Parish Newsletter and on the notice board in the Waters Upton Village Hall. Members pay £5 per year and £1 at each meeting for tea and biscuits and a raffle ticket.Visitors are always welcome and pay £1 for tea etc. A Christmas lunch is usually in November and an outing arranged in the summer.   2008 Chestnut Club Programme.   Jan: 14  " China Flowers" by Kate Cadman.   Feb: 11  AGM at 2.00pm followed by "Jean's Girls" singing "London Songs".   March 10 " Fordhall Community Farm" by Charlotte Hollins.   April 14  " History of Shrewsbury" by Shrewsbury Town Crier, Martin Wood in his Town Crier's costume. Special cakes for tea.   May 12  OUTING TO ANDERTON BOAT LIFT in Cheshire.    June 9  "Malleable Metals" by Mrs Anne Dyer.   July 14 " Pantomime Dames" by Revd: Edward Ward followed by Strawberries and Cream Tea. Cost to members and              visitors £3 per person.    AUGUST NO MEETING.   September 8 Guide Dogs for the Blind by Janet Mitchell.   November 10   CHRISTMAS LUNCH details to be confirmed later.   December 8  Gabriella and her UKULELE.
