  • Young Enterprise London is a registered charity which works with young people in schools and youth organisations, aged 4-24 years, across London. Our aim is to equip and inspire young people through enterprise, entrepreneurship and citizenship training and education. We help socially disadvantaged children develop positive, ‘can do’ attitudes to improve their life prospects and increase their motivation and attainment in school. Our activities also help to bridge the gap between school and the world of work, helping with preparation for employment and the development of key skills, ensuring our participants are engaged with the concept of success and value their own worth. The charity was formed in 2001 and since that time the numbers of young participants in London has grown from 1,500 to almost 80,000 this year. The Trustees have developed an innovative and challenging strategy to engage as many young people as possible in Young Enterprise programmes across all 33 boroughs in London. Our remit is to work with all young people but our main focus is to improve the life prospects of young people who are most disadvantaged. We are recognised for innovative work by national and local government agencies and came third in the Enterprising London Competition this year. We also form and maintain relationships with a large number of businesses using their employees as volunteer mentors.  Our MissionTo inspire and equip young people, particularly in areas of disadvantage, to learn and succeed through enterprise.Our VisionThat all young people will have the opportunity to gain personal experience of how business works, understand the role it plays in providing employment and creating prosperity and be inspired to improve their own prospects.
