Further Description
  • Leonard Cheshire Disability is a national charity that operates local, community based services for people with varying kinds of disability. Voluntary income has always been vital to Leonard Cheshire Disability and the disabled people supported by it, but now it is becoming even more so.One of our services, 'Hollow Lane', is based in Exeter and is a purpose built, residential home for children with severe learning disabilities. It has been in operation for 4 years and is home to 6 able bodied children all under the age of 16 each with severe learning disabilities. Thanks to a new 2 bed extension, we are now able to provide residential care for a further 2 local children. At present, Hollow Lane does not have an outdoor area where the children can play and spend recreational time. Due to the increase in residential care for children, it has become increasingly evident that there is a significant need to provide them with an outdoors play area/playground. Hollow Lane is therefore looking for local funding opportunities to raise money for a multi-purpose climbing frame. If you would like further information about this project or think that you may be able help, please contact helen.white@LCDisability.org.Thank you
