Further Description
  •   The Clitheroe Concerts Society holds concerts  in the Clitheroe Royal Grammar School Sixth Form Centre at 7:30 pm on (usually) the first Wednesday of the month, during the autumn, winter and early spring. The concerts are of varied music, ranging from solo piano to groups of five or six. The aim is to present only the highest calibre musicians, whether they are established groups or up-and-coming younger people. Many are by international recording artists, for example Ashley Wass, who played in early 2007 has ten highly recommended CDs, mainly on EMI and Naxos. The majority of groups are based on London, but within the last year we have had a string quartet from Prague and a pianist from Berlin.Parking is free in the scholl grounds and entrance is on the level, useful for those not too good on their feet or disabled. The Society is friendly and informal. Tea and biscuits are served in the interval. If you feel like getting involved, even if for only an hour to help prepare the concert room or to lay out the tea cups, please contact us. If you join the Society, entrance is free, saving two thirds on the door or advanced ticket price.
