  • Volunteer Centre Yate offers a brokerage service – helping people find voluntary work and groups/organisations find volunteers. We are a registered charity, funded by South Gloucestershire Council, Communities and our office is in Yate Library. As well as helping people to find voluntary work, we offer volunteer related training sessions (usually twice a year), information and advice about volunteering related matters and we campaign at local and national levels on topics such as volunteers rights. We can also assist groups with writing volunteer policies and creating new volunteering roles. Our website lists a selection of available opportunities and we are also linked to the national volunteering database: www.do-it.org.  We are a quality accredited member of Volunteering England and together with our colleagues at Thornbury and Patchway Volunteer Centres, for the past 4 years we have supported Young Bristol with the delivery of a volunteering project for 18-24 year olds in South Gloucestershire.  We have a drop in facility at our office Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm, although we do encourage appointments to be made to discuss volunteering roles. Out of hours messages can be left on our ansafone or by email.
