  • Gainsborough and District Heritage Association was formed in 1994 and the Heritage Centre was housed in the ground floor of the office block of a former engineering works in the town. Eventually the site was taken over by developers and the Association had to vacate the premises and close down the Heritage Centre in 2003. Since then the G & D H A has maintained a small office in the town but without an actual Heritage Centre.  It now looks as though suitable premises are to become available to the Association for a new Heritage Centre with storage facilities and we at present in negotiations to this end.
