  • The village hall,recently  tastefully refurbished by the able Macclesfield "Unpaid Work unit", is bookable by a wide variety of groups -either regular users inc.,the Womens' Institute, churchgroups,the Parish Council, Poor Knights of St Dysmus,- or one-off occasions e.g.for family groups for children's parties , the goat society, yoga etc.etcWe have a large hall ,kitchen, toilets and rear store room.The hall is conveniently set in ample grounds used e.g. by the dog handling groups and annually  for our Garden party and Poor Knights of St Dysmas  for training for events. To book contact Roger or Anne Farbrother 01260-272409This year,we are delighted to report, is our 150th Anniversary & we are holding a series of  events in it,e.g. the Annual Garden Party on 14th July to which all previous Rose Queens will be invited as well as all local queens and retinues.That evening there is a hog roast at 7-00p.m.in the main Marquee.We shall be entertained by a folk music quartet.A safari supper is taking place on 16th June! Then in  September on 16th is our annual harvest event,which will include a welcome to all villagers to an al-fresco bring and share lunch in and around a large marquee,in the hall grounds, preceeding the traditional auction of harvest produce.We went out to"beat the bounds" last weekend on 12th May and had a communal meal at the Plough afterwards.Watch this space for more events inc. a 150th dinner at the Plough on 2nd December, after our 150th birthday service that morning in our lovely little church!!
