  • Issues for 2007The group's main focus for 2006 and this year is to -Help protect and maintain the semi-rural character of West Parley in the light of the SW Regional Assembly's proposals in the Draft Regional Spatiol Strategy 2006-26, for 900 houses on Green Belt land;On 26 February, publish the results of a parish-wide survey undertaken at the end of 2006 and to present the report to Christopher Chope, OBE, MP, and local councillors;Work closely with the Parish Council and other authorities and agencies, especially English Heritage (in respect of Dudsbury Iron Age Hillfort - a Scheduled Monument), Natural England (regarding internationally important and protected lowland heath of Parley Common, SSSI, and CPRE; Comment on forthcoming planning application by Bournemouth Airport and its proposals for major expansion (from 1m passengers pa to 4m by 2030);Consider Dorset County Council's proposals for a MBT (Mechanical & Biological Treatment) Plant near Bournmouth Airport, and other waste issues including recycling;Deal with any other issues that arise which are relevant to the ancient village of West Parley.
