Further Description
  • The Society was formed in 2002 and continues to provide top class monthly entertainment; if you have not already attended one of the concerts, you are missing a real treat!    There are around 200 organ societies in the UK but this is the only such club in the Andover area or indeed within the Test Valley Borough.  Anyone who enjoys melodious, easy listening, live music cannot help but derive considerable pleasure from listening to the modern electronic organs. These amazing pieces of electronic wizardry are capable of a wide range of sounds and rhythms – from military bands to orchestras, from the violin to the harmonica; in fact, the sounds of almost any instruments you can imagine can be reproduced by these organs.  The styles of music presented by the guest performers can range from classical to contemporary, from waltzes to marches, and the programmes are always balanced to suit most musical tastes.         There are numerous professional performers on the ‘circuit’, playing a variety of electronic organs, and first class music within a friendly and relaxed environment is always assured.  In addition, with the aid of video projection equipment, the entire audience has an excellent view of the keyboard and pedal skills demonstrated by the various players.  Concerts are usually staged at the Fairground Hall, Weyhill (three miles west of Andover, on the A342) on the third Thursday of every month, from 7.30 p.m. until 10.00 p.m., with an intermission of around thirty minutes for refreshments and a raffle.  Early booking is recommended.
