  • Brookside Social Centre is based in Brookside House, 46 Brookside Avenue.Brookside house is Extra Care Housing, with a Day Centre, Hairdressers, beautican It Room, Great Resturant which is open to the public, and much more. Brookside is attached to Ash Grange which is shelted housing, both are part of housing21.The social centre is open Mondays -  Fridays 9.30 -  4.30 there is plenty of activitys going on every day.The staff organise themed Days, we have just had Ladies Day at Ascot this was a fantastic Day, The Men played the part of the jockys in a mock up version of  the donkey derby game, we had a best dressed Ladies compition with a great prize Trivia quiz, race cards a specal menu for lunch and flowing jugs of sangria. What we have to offer is Tai Chi , Chair based exercise , Arts and Crafts , Computor Classes, Complimentary therapies Including Gentle massages Expert Patient Course   Smoking Cessation (including Acupuncture).We have visited Lord Derbys house which is only open 5 days a year, the Maritime musium, Landudno, and in two weeks we are going to York, there are plans for more  trips in the future. On the 4th July 2006 there is a terrace Bar'B'Que taking place with a English and American Theme a information leaflet has been designed for the day, Triva quiz relating to the British Isles and America, with a prize to be won, the Union Jack flag and the Stars n Stripes flag will be in abundance.There are Day Centre Staff on site a Day Care Co-ordinator, The Home Care Assistants and office based staff are also very welcoming and helpfull.I have attached the front and back page from our Ladies Day, General knowlege questions and answers from the same day, and also the flyer advertising the Bar'B'Que.When I get recent photgraphs printed i will place them hereThank you for taking the time to read all about usEileen
