  • St. Thomas's Community Network is a charitable organisation that delivers education and training and supports social activities within a deprived community.  The grant would help support the care in the community activities that is carried out without funding.  The grant would give us funding to directly support people in distress who turn up on our door step, often hungry, cold and homeless.  These people in distress have usually been thrown out by partners and are often the victims of severe domestic violence.  In the last twelve months we have seen at least two people per month where we have had to either feed mother and child, support with travel to a refuge or an out of town safe location.  We are not funded for any of the care in the community activities we carry out and often the staff fund this from thier own pockets.  There are no specific events or meeting times, as we meet the immediate needs as they arise.
