  • The Log Cabin is an inclusive adventure playground for children and young people aged 4-15 who have special needs or a disability or who are in need and who live in the community of Ealing. Established in 1980 and open all the year round, the aim is to make a positive difference to the lives of chidren by providing exciting and stimulating play opportunities in a safe, caring, challenging and fun environment.Playworkers enable the children to participate in all indoor and outdoor activities, which include a big climbing structure, a sensory adventure room, a soft play room, an arts and crafts room, a big hall and a quiet room and a nature area, as well as sports, music and dance, and bikes, trikes and skates. Our facilities are fully accessible to wheelchair users. Play  develops the children's intellectual, physical, social, creative and motor skills and helps them to develop a sense of identity, self-respect and confidence.Our minibuses collect many of the children each day and return them home, thus allowing accessibility to children whose familes would struggle on public transport. Our activities are child-led. Children are encouraged to explore and experiment at their own pace, with the emphasis place on their abilities. We aim to celebrate their individuality and to help them learn the skills that will equip them to cope with life in the future and enable them to achieve their potential and play a full part in society.The Log Cabin gives a vital break to families, who can become exhausted from caring for a disabled child. It is an inclusive playground.
