Further Description
  • We are a pre-school offering sessional care to children aged 2 1/2 year to school age.  We currently operate from the Village Hall and because of its limitations can only offer 3 sessions per week (Wednesday morning, Friday morning and Friday afternoon).  We currently have 39 children using the pre-school.We have a very long waiting list of new children and we also have lots of Mum's and Dad's wanting more sessions now, that we simply cannot offer. We have now been awarded a Big Lottery Award to build a new pre-school in the grounds of the local primary school, All Saints Primary School, Great Oakley.  We are anticipating being open in the new pre-school the beginning of the September term 2006.  We will then be able to offer 5 morning sessions and eventually 5 afternoon sessions as well as a Lunch Club and After School activities. The Big Lottery Award is funding the building, ground works, mains connections etc.  We will be responsible for funding the remainder including the decoration and the outside area.We will be looking for small pots of money to help us purchase new toys and some outdoor equipments and craft items. The pre-school is managed by 2 managers and 2 pre-school assistant.  We also rely on volunteers who kindly give up their free time to help at the pre-school.  All staff and volunteers are police checked before undertaking any duties. We have a very active Committee all of which work very hard in making this happen.  Our vice-chair, previously chair is Headteacher at All Saints primary School is also an active member of the Committee. We have an active fundraising committee, constantly coming up with ideas to raise money for the 'New Building Project'
