Further Description
  • Kingstone Army Cadets are part of 3 Sector of the Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Force, which is a voluntary youth organisation, supported by the Army.We parade at our detachment building at Kingstone in the grounds of the High School every Wednesday evening from 6.45 till 9.30pm.Cadets are given instruction with topics as part of their sylabus as:First AidMap & Compass work (This topic helps greatly with school)Physical TrainingDrill (marching and parading)Military Knowledge.Fieldcraft (getting covered in camouflage and learning all about patrols, basic protection outdoors and lots , lots more)Skill at Arms (depending upon age, ability and level of training, working with different fire arms, starting with an air rifle, progressing towards target rifles firing live on highly supervised and coached ranges)We regulary go away for weekends to army facilities to train and carry out testing and every August we attend a week long camp again held at a facility with a military connection, where all the above are done to the full and dependant upon service committments the cadets possibly get to ride in armoured vehicles, helicopters etc, with of course a parent or guardians written consent. In addition we work closely with other local organisations such as the Royal British Legion and can be seen at local public events. We strongly enourage a team work philosophy to allow cadets to be able to work individually, but equally as part of a team, but above all enjoy themselves and make new friends in a well organised and safe environment.
