  • HALFWAY HOUSE LADIES CHOIR meet every Tuesday evening at the Wattlesborough Community Centre, Halfway House, on the main A458 Shrewsbury to Welshpool road. We gather at 7.30 and chat and catch up on notices until 7.50pm when we begin practice. We break again at 8.30 for a drink and resume after, ending practice around 9.30pm.
    Past winners of the Ladies Choir Category at the Minsterley Eisteddfod we are a choir growing in number and reputation and in what is our 35th year, what better way to make new friends and celebrate the gift of music?
    Our current members come from Halfway House and the many surrounding villages and also from Shrewsbury so lifts can usually be arranged.
    We are always on the look out for new members - no formal auditions necessary- and the best qualifications to possess are those of enjoying singing, having a sense of humour and lots of enthusiasm!
    Music is provided and soloists are very welcome. We do have regular workshops for both the choir as a whole and soloists which we all enjoy.
    We are regularly invited to perform at concerts, charity events and weddings as well as staging our own concerts and if you wish to enquire about engaging our services in 2011, please either email us on halfwayladies@aol.com or ring Mary Edwards on 01743 884356.
    Our latest CD - Row of Roses - is still available with 13 tracks including Over the Rainbow, Morte Criste and The Rose - now at the special price of £5. Available from choir members, at concerts or by mail order.
