  • The Phoenix Singers, Somerset is a small mixed voice group which was founded in 1971.It sings music in a wide range of styles from many centuries - Gregorian Chants to Messiaen, and early French madrigals to arrangements of Gershwin and Lennon-McCartney.The Choir is a registered charity and while it takes it's music seriously there is a lively social programme too.New singers are always welcome though there is an entry audition.The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings in Taunton School, and gives 4-8 concerts a year in and around Taunton and throughout Somerset with occassional concerts further afieldIf you are interested in knowing more or in joining the choir or in becoming a Friend visit our web site or contact Andrew Maddocks our musical director.
