Further Description
  • The New Yatt Riding for the Disabled Group is based in North Leigh where we operate from purpose-built stables and a new Indoor Arena, built in 2004 with generous donations from individuals, companies and organisations including Sport England. We are an independent charity, run by volunteers and, with 7 working horses and ponies, provide riding instruction to over 60 children and adults from West Oxfordshire each week.We run sessions on Monday am and pm, Wednesday am, Thursday am and Saturday pm and a team of volunterr RDA qualified Instructors and Helpers work together to provide sessions; care for our horses; maintain our stables and support our fundraising events. Helpers are involved with grooming and tacking our horses and ponies; assisting the Instructor with mounting and dismounting riders and leading or side walking during the session. It can be rewarding, challenging and fun.Helpers must be aged 16 or over and willing to spend 2-3 hours at our stables. No previous experience with horses is necessary as training is provided.
