Further Description
  • The war memorial in the centre of Crewe Cheshire in England has been at the centre of the town since 1924 and was put there so we never forget those who gave their lives so we could be free. Now though Labour led Crewe & Nantwich Council have decided to move the memorial to another site. Over 2000 people have objected to this but the council has chose to ignore the views of the public and intend to move it soon. The survey taken by the council has been flawed from the start with less than 500 people stating their opinion and the majority of those were in favour of keeping it were it is. The council have chosen to misinterpret this information for their own end. See the comments page for proof. The decision by the council has been taken despite everyone complaining. Some of the daft excuses to move it are that it floods. This can be seen in the picture but in my view this makes us remember that's how those that died lived in the trenches and many still remain beneath the sea. What it actually say is the the Council has failed to maintain the monument. I believe it's a deliberate ploy to justify moving it all that is required is the drain unblocking.Other arguments are that the young people don't want it but the council has no evidence for this statement.Frank Jones is leading the fight against the moving of the memorial.
