  • Lindy Hop is the Granddaddy of all forms of partner Jive & Swingdance, dating back to the 1920's in America. It was danced by the black community to Jazz music & by the 1930's it was being danced across America by the young (black & white) to Big Band music. In the 1940's the dance hit the British Shores by American GI's in World War II with a much simplified version called the Jitterbug. So come & give it try! New Absolute Beginners Class Starts 6th Sept. 2005.Every Tuesday at Steeple Morden Village Hall. �4 per person. Beginners Class 7.15pm. Intermediate Class 8.20pm. Dancing & Social Practice Until 10.30pm.
