Further Description
  • Priory Youth Players were established in 1996 by Kate Meadows. We rehearse every Monday and Wednesday at the Priory Church Hall, Deeping St James from 6.30pm onwards. All ages welcome (4+). We put on variety shows and dance for the Priory Players pantomime. In a year we cover lots of singing, dancing and acting to build confidence and stage presence. We are a voluntary group and simply charge 1 per rehearsal. Background: the Priory Players was formed in 1947 by Tess Blessett - still the current producer of the group. Her grand-daughter, Kate Meadows, has been a part of this group for 24 years and now choreographs and directs both PP and PYP. Born To Perform (the latest PYP production) was an excellent variety show. The children performed many songs and dances ranging from Busted, Avril Lavigne and the Darkness through to songs from the West End and Broadway. The show was "totally awesome"! Thoroughly enjoyed by all of the current cast and, of course, the parents. PYP focus on the children enjoying what they do to ensure they best results.PYP have been so popular is recent years we are booked for primary school fetes and Carnival events. Each "roadshow" is made up of all of the best PYP dances over the year.
