  • Wasnbeck Toy Library is a voluntary organisation that provides fun learning and play opportunities for children aged 0-9 years living within Wansbeck District in Northumberland with the aim of developing literacy, numeracy and communication skills.We deliver the toy library service from our main base in Ashington and from 4 outreach locations within the district. As well as providing toys, books, games and equipment for loaning, our link workers work with children and their parents/ carers to choose suitable toys that will enable them to develop basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills. We also deliver fun play sessions and we also provide access to support services such as CAB, Credit Union, school uniform exchange and health advice. Membership is open to everyone within the District and we charge a yearly membership fee and a small charge of 10p, 20p or 50p for the loaning of Toys. To become a member you need to complete a membership form which are available from our main base in Ashington and pay the fee and then membership tickets are sent to the home address. We also operate a delivery service for larger items and we are currenlty in the process of developing new services and constantly welcome suggestions from members.
